Whats the Latest...Hello 2013!!

Been awhile since Ive blogged so I thought I might try to catch you guys up on the latest with me. Christmas was very very busy with pet portraits for people and other commissions. Here is a handful of some of the pets I painted.

It was my son's first Christmas, and we also found out that we are now expecting Baby #2 in June! Needless to say, I was very very tired throughout the holidays-that first trimester kicked my tail. Our tree finally got put up in the middle of the month thanks to help from a friend, and our manger scene that we normally have outside unfortunatley, never got put out. Oh well... Life goes on, and it did.
For my personal art, I am getting ready for a show at the Schepis Museum in Columbia in March. I plan to have more pieces of art on display (and for sale!) from my "Trophy Series". If you have had dinner at the new Cascio Tavern Restuarant on Antique Alley in West Monroe, then you have seen a few of these pieces from that series. Also, I'm working on painting a bunch of ceiling tiles for St Francis Hospital's Peds floor. Shelby's Wish, a wonderful local non profit, has hired me to liven up all the kid room ceilings! So excited to be apart of this project!!

As for Mr P's Tees, we are going to be selling our designs at this years Junior League Spring Market during the weekend of March 22-24th at the Monroe Civic center. I've shopped this event every year, but this will be my first time as a vendor. I've been sketching like crazy on our new spring/summer designs. All the designs are first drawn by me in pencil, then drawn again in pen and ink, and then I take them over to Whitney at Reflections. She scans in the drawings and works her magic with placing fonts if needed and helps me to see what different color combinations will look like. I am so thankful for her time. ALOT has changed in the graphic design department since I graduated in 2001. My trusty G4 Mac that my parents bought me in 1998 seems enormous, slow and inconsistent.
Here is an example of one of my drawings that has been brought to "life".
My first attempt at a squirrel-my hubs informed me he looked fat...so
I slimmed him up a bit. Brent liked this better.
This is the final layout with the wording and what it will look at on a gray tee.

For the little girls

My plan is to experiment with my drawings on some dresses this season too! For girls AND for women. We will only print a few in each design and see how it goes. But I must say, I'm pretty pumped about these Alternative Apparel long racer back maxi dresses for women. I'm picturing them with blue jean jackets, and flip flops or boots-depending on the weather.
